Washington DC has two universities that have received accreditation by the Association for Education in Journalism and Mass Communication (ACEJMC) - American University and Howard University. Both schools provide multiple programs that offer a Bachelor's degree in the fields of journalism and communications.
There is a Master of Arts in Journalism and Public Affairs or Strategic Communication through American University, and there are similar undergraduate programs in these disciplines.
